  • Be responsible for the full cycle development of Control Systems solutions, including PLC and SCADA software development and on-site commissioning You will be the authority on design decisions within all streams of control systems projects.
  • Be responsible for delivering work to the defined, applicable standards and to get reviews performed accordingly.
  • Creation of project documentation from client documents or requirements gathering sessions/workshops. Including, but not limited to:
- User Requirements Specifications (URS)- Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS)- Testing documentation- User manuals- Risk assessments and method statements- Project delivery schedules- Software Design Specifications (SDS), including I/O schedules and network architecture diagrams/designs
  • Work with the project manager to ensure successful delivery of projects by managing the technical deliverables and quality gates in the delivery process. Raise any issues and risks that arise within a project.
  • Manage technical work packages within a project, assigning and monitoring tasks and task progress within the delivery team.
  • Deliver/perform client acceptance testing, both remotely and on-site, where applicable. Comfortable running test procedures with clients.
  • Work with the sales team to define scope for new work, assess duration and resources required. To identify, review and suggest mitigation for associated risks.
  • Be a technical mentor for more junior engineers within the team.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTSWe are looking for:
  • A minimum of three years' experience in hands-on PLC software development (Ideally Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff or Mitsubishi platforms).
  • A minimum of three years' experience in hands-on SCADA software development (Ideally with Ignition, Cimplicity, Wonderware, WinCC or FactoryTalk View).
  • Demonstrated ability for problem solving, troubleshooting, fault finding and fixing/resolving technical issues in operational/production environments.
  • An understanding of control systems hardware configuration, including rack layouts, power consumption considerations, networking set up, VSDs.
  • Experience with commissioning control systems solutions with an ability to work safely and independently on clients manufacturing sites.
  • Experience and knowledge of delivering projects within the ISA 88 standard for batch control.
  • Software development experience, e.g., Python, C or C# development.
  • Version control experience, e.g., GIT.
  • Database and SQL querying experience, e.g., MySQL, MS SQL.
  • Degree level education, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Any PLC or SCADA package qualifications.
