
Clinical Data Analyst Oncology & Endoscopy

- Work collaboratively with the Business Manager and Senior Clinical Program Director to support the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives related to quality and efficiency.
- Consult with healthcare team and governance committee in the formulation of plans to assist in the development of a quality framework.
- Collaboratively develop and implement improvement reporting strategy (reports and communication plans as directed by the Business Manager).
- Analyze reports and focus on data quality to help identify areas or change in practice to ensure that the program is meeting targeted outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Manager to ensure reporting requirements, data quality, performance measures and targets are met to mitigate risks of funding reduction.
- Analyze monthly reports and look for anomalies.
- Accurately abstract, audit and submit data elements required for reporting.
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for abstracting, compiling, and submitting data from confidential health records.
- Accountable for entering accurate data that adheres to local, provincial reporting requirements and all privacy reporting requirements.
- Collaborates with leadership and staff within the OEP to support the successful implementation of mandated programmatic quality improvement initiatives and projects.
- Strong focus on data quality, interpretation and data management in order to ensure that quality initiatives are on track.
- Primarily responsible to ensure that the OEP produces high quality information for government reporting, funding, and performance management related to quality-based procedures.
- Accurate collection, submission and analysis of Systemic Therapy Activity Level Reporting (STALR) and Endoscopy Quality Based Procedures (QBP) and DSP patient data in parameters established by QBP reporting.
- Demonstrate that the data entered into the registry adheres to the provincial standards and definitions outlined in the funding Technical Specifications.
- Generate and submit timely and accurate data reports for our key internal and external stakeholders.
- Disseminate annual funding Technical Specification updates and changes to teams as appropriate.
- Develops tools and working documents that support action plans and working documents that provide structure and direction for improvement that align with Technical Specification reporting requirements.
- Review literature, liaise with internal and external stakeholders for evidence-based quality framework and provide recommendations.
- Monitor trends of indicator outcomes and provide recommendations for changes to improve process.
- Identify gaps within the current structure and actual practice of information mining and data sharing.
- Program support for major organizational initiatives (i.e., accreditation and patient satisfaction.
- Performs cross-institutional and other data analysis as assigned and/or requested by key stakeholders.
- Works with stakeholders to analyze impact of errors i.e. WTIS, ICMS for OBSP, Epic, ESAS, iPort.
- Works with stakeholders to review Epic data, reports (both review the quality and help build additional data audit reports) and the quality of documentation.

- Post secondary education in related field is required
- Familiarity with diagnosis, diseases, accurately applying various coding systems such as International Classification of Diseases 10
- Excellent verbal, written, analytic and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills for report generation and graphics presentations
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals to embrace complex change initiatives
- Specific knowledge and experience related to the clinical activities within the program

- Proven success in working in a team environment and ability to encourage innovation and accountability among staff at all levels
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to analyze and utilize clinical and management data for planning purposes
