This includes oversight of dispatch, operational airworthiness processes, flight scheduling, long‑term planning, and close coordination with internal and external partners to ensure that flying operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with program priorities, regulatory requirements, and RCAF expectations.The role manages the Dispatch and Scheduling Team, providing leadership, direction, and mentorship while maintaining and updating Dispatch SOPs and ensuring compliance with operational airworthiness requirements. The Air Operations Manager leads the development of mid‑ to long‑term flight schedules in collaboration with DND Schedulers, Flight Authorization Officers, and 2 CFFTS, optimizing the utilization of aircraft, pilots, and instructor resources.This position acts as the primary liaison with the Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) for aircraft availability planning, maintenance repair party dispatch, and operational coordination. The role serves as the lead point of contact during aircraft diversions, weather disruptions, and unserviceability events, ensuring timely communication and effective operational response.Additional responsibilities include maintaining operational records, such as aircrew qualifications and currencies, and providing data‑driven reporting to support pilot production forecasting across the Basic Flight Training (BFT) and Advanced Flight Training (AFT) streams.
