- Responsible for probabilistic safety assessments of plant systems (process and safety), especially safety systems e.g. emergency core cooling, containment,) balance of plant, and plant operation and safety related systems.
- Analysing of postulated accidents using state-of-the-art methodologies and computer codes.
- perform reliability assessments and failure mode and effect analysis for the CANDU systems / components.
- Develop fault trees and event trees including human reliability and common cause factors analysis and preparation of reports for Level 1 and 2 PSA.
- Analyze internal events including shutdown, internal fire and flood, external events (e.g. seismic).
- Assisting in the development of approaches to be used on safety analysis tasks and development of methodologies or guidance
- Document analyses in technical notes and reports, and present results at meetings.

- A Relevant honours degree from a university of recognized standing in Engineering; nuclear safety analysis experience and/or background is a strong asset or several years working in the nuclear field.
- Understanding of underlying reliability principles and statistics an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible, i.e., must be able to perform varied work assignments effectively and respond quickly to changing project needs.
- Ability to show initiative while working in a team environment.
- Ability to work to budget and schedule.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally to participate in meetings and workshops.
