We are currently seeking a candidate with up to 3 years of Electrical design experience and experience in CADD software (AutoCAD and MicroStation) and drafting experience. We value self-starters with strong communication skills who can collaborate effectively across disciplines. Recent graduates with co-op and/or work experience are encouraged to apply.This opportunity will allow you to work on high-profile projects specifically in the Electrical Engineering Transportation Industry, working alongside senior members, junior staff and provides you an opportunity to work with our client base.Role responsibilities:Support Management and Senior Designers in the development of Roadway and High Mast Lighting systems, Traffic Signal designs of the Electrical Department and Intelligent Transportation Systems Contracts.
  • Ability to make changes or revisions to existing and new drawings using CADD software,
  • Ability to work with the design team in preparing conceptual and detailed design layouts and detailed drawings for various projects,
  • Ability to utilize CADD (AutoCAD and MicroStation) software to prepare preliminary electrical layout design and detail drawings for a wide range of infrastructure projects (including layout plans, detail design, wiring schematics, equipment summary tables and charts, cross-section, and elevation drawings),
  • Ability to convert digital CADD files into “DXF” files from AGI 32 lighting software output files into CADD software,
  • Proactively advance design techniques and procedures (as required) to help support other designers, technical staff, and project managers.
  • Ability to coordinate drawings with other disciplines, and team members, and coordination of drawing filling systems.
QualificationsQualifications
  • Electrical Engineering Technologist College Diploma or similar Post-Secondary diploma focused on Engineering Technology,
  • Up to 3 years of related CADD Design experience,
  • Advanced skills using both AutoCAD and MicroStation and drafting experience is a must-have,
  • Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are expected, Microsoft Visio skills are an asset,
  • A “self-starter” who must be able to “multi-task” with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • A contributing team player willing to contribute to various projects both in and out of his/her immediate team.
  • Ability to problem-solve,
  • Ability to understand, manipulate and configure large roadway files,
  • Good written and oral communication,
  • Some travel may be required and a valid Ontario “G” license is an asset.
