- Ability to make changes or revisions to existing and new drawings using CADD software,
- Ability to work with the design team in preparing conceptual and detailed design layouts and detailed drawings for various projects,
- Ability to utilize CADD (AutoCAD and MicroStation) software to prepare preliminary electrical layout design and detail drawings for a wide range of infrastructure projects (including layout plans, detail design, wiring schematics, equipment summary tables and charts, cross-section, and elevation drawings),
- Ability to convert digital CADD files into “DXF” files from AGI 32 lighting software output files into CADD software,
- Proactively advance design techniques and procedures (as required) to help support other designers, technical staff, and project managers.
- Ability to coordinate drawings with other disciplines, and team members, and coordination of drawing filling systems.
- Electrical Engineering Technologist College Diploma or similar Post-Secondary diploma focused on Engineering Technology,
- Up to 3 years of related CADD Design experience,
- Advanced skills using both AutoCAD and MicroStation and drafting experience is a must-have,
- Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are expected, Microsoft Visio skills are an asset,
- A “self-starter” who must be able to “multi-task” with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- A contributing team player willing to contribute to various projects both in and out of his/her immediate team.
- Ability to problem-solve,
- Ability to understand, manipulate and configure large roadway files,
- Good written and oral communication,
- Some travel may be required and a valid Ontario “G” license is an asset.
