- Develop, implement, and execute maintenance and maintenance-related strategies aligned with Operations Excellence System (OES) principles.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical direction on site initiatives related to reliability, automation, and engineering.
- Lead the development of strategies and tactics focused on reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Oversee and manage the annual budgets for the reliability, automation, and engineering departments.
- Define and implement management processes for reliability, automation, and engineering, including documentation and change control, to comply with customer, regulatory, manufacturing, and purchasing requirements.
- Manage third-party services supporting reliability, automation, and engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate and execute site capital projects through continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and engineering initiatives.
- Participate in recruitment, performance assessments, and development of both direct and indirect reports.
- Support people strategies by coaching, training, and developing reliability and engineering team members.
- Actively engage with the Joint Health & Safety Committee to promote workplace safety.
- Lead industrial engineering efforts in developing and maintaining labor standards, capability studies, layouts, manning charts, mass balance assessments, and process simulations.
- Foster a positive working culture by embodying and promoting MLF core values.
- Demonstrate an active involvement/commitment to a progressive health and safety program and food safety program.
- Post secondary education required.
- A minimum of 5 yrs of maintenance reliability leadership experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a food processing industry.
- Ability to develop and implement maintenance, reliability, and engineering strategies aligned with operational excellence principles and company standards.
- Strong knowledge in reliability engineering, automation systems, and capital project management.
- Experience managing departmental budgets and coordinating third-party services effectively.
- Skilled in coaching, training, and performance management to build a high-performing reliability and engineering team.
- Experience in leading and applying lean manufacturing concepts.
