Rev up your career with us-join our team as a Heavy Duty Mechanic / Truck and Trailer Technician!Position: Heavy Duty Mechanic / Truck and Trailer Technician (2nd year – Journeyman)Type: Fulltime Permanent -Shift: 2pm to 10pm Monday to FridayLocation: Langley, BCCompensation: From $30 - $54/hour (Depends on experience and tickets)Position Overview:Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing has an exciting opening for a Heavy-Duty Mechanic / Truck and Trailer Technician based out of Langley, BC for a 2nd year apprentice to Journeyman status Technician.The Heavy Duty Technician / Truck and Trailer Tech is responsible to keep our Fleets, Truck Rentals and leasing vehicles in perfect operating condition. You will help develop, and maintain excellent customer relations, to the highest level of customer service, to exceed all customer expectations.What We Offer:

Job Duties:
  • Perform diagnostic inspections and troubleshooting on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on engines, brakes, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
  • Test drive vehicles to verify repair effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve complex mechanical issues.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Assist with parts ordering and inventory management as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2nd year apprentice to Red Seal Journeyman certification or equivalent in Heavy Duty Mechanic/Truck & Transport Technician industry.
  • Proven experience working with heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and adherence to safety standards.
Preferred:
  • Class 1 or 3 driver's license
  • CVI (Commercial Vehicle Inspection) license
