Aplin is proud to partner with a respected law firm to find a driven and detail-focused Paralegal or Legal Assistant. In this dedicated role, you will take ownership of a high-volume debt recovery caseload for a client-giving you the chance to truly master the process from demand letter through to judgment enforcement (garnishment, writs, and bailiff seizure).You will receive:

  • Generate demand letters and track the limitation period.
  • Prepare and file Civil Claims, Default Judgments, and Affidavits of Debt at Alberta Court of King's Bench.
  • Prepare Writs of Enforcement, Garnishment Orders, and Examination of Debtor applications.
  • Act as daily liaison to financial institution client recovery teams.
  • Review debtor disputes and process settlements within client authority limits.
  • Ensure compliance and run monthly limitation reports.
Qualifications
  • 1-3+ years of experience in Alberta debt recovery, collections, or creditors' rights.
  • Legal Assistant diploma or paralegal certificate from an Alberta institution.
  • Familiar with Alberta Court of King's Bench civil forms and e-filing (ACMS).
  • Experience with case management software.
