We need our Inspectors to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role you will: perform well defined and sometimes difficult inspection tasks, including monitoring quality control procedures. You will inspect various facets of work on the construction site and perform continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Our inspectors document nonconformance and may participate in discussions to determine appropriate resolution. Willingness to travel and/or to relocate to field sites is expected.Responsibilities:o Carries out inspection activities to ensure conformanceo Conducts site surveys, obtaining relevant information, equipment and materialso Searches for physical survey evidence (building ties, monuments, fences, etc.) and determines whether or not existing survey evidence sufficeso Obtains additional survey evidence as necessary and determines when enough information has been obtainedo Analyzes situations or data from which answers are easily obtained using standard procedure and practiceo Assists to compile field data in report form for review of project designerQualifications:o A Post Secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineeringo Designation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Junior Inspector (rcji) Technology/Technician or currently as an engineering university/college studento Previous engineering/construction experience is an asseto Prior experience working on municipal and MTO projectso Either registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T.o Able to work on weekends and nights, as requiredo Strong interpersonal and communication skillso Ability to work well in a team environmento Proficiency with MS OfficeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 75 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
