Prairie Valley School Division invites applications for a 1.0 temporary Learning Facilitator - Applied Learning and Safety commencing the 2026-2027 school year.The Applied Learning and Safety Facilitator provides specialized leadership and support to school-based administrators and teachers to enhance both safe practice and high-quality applied learning across Prairie Valley School Division.This role focuses on Practical and Applied Arts (PAA) and other specialized learning environments, ensuring that programs are delivered in safe, compliant, and engaging spaces while supporting teachers in effective instructional practice.The Facilitator works collaboratively across schools to identify and mitigate risk, maintain safety standards, and strengthen learning environments where students engage in hands-on, skill-based programming such as construction, welding, food studies, sewing, science labs, and physical education spaces.The Learning Facilitator provides learning leadership by:
Providing individualized, timely, and practical support (modelling, co-planning, co-teaching, and feedback) to teachers in PAA and specialized learning spaces.
Supporting teachers in the implementation of PAA curricula and other applied learning programs aligned with Saskatchewan curriculum expectations.
Building teacher capacity to create and maintain safe, inclusive, and engaging hands-on learning environments.
Supporting best practices in safety, supervision, and risk mitigation.
Assisting schools in developing and maintaining safe operating procedures and safety plans.
Supporting responses to safety concerns, incidents, and evolving risks.
Collaborating with administrators to ensure learning spaces are accessible, well-maintained, and instructionally effective.
The Learning Facilitator provides system leadership by:
Leading division-wide efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risk in high-liability learning environments.
Establishing and supporting consistent safety standards and protocols across schools.
Conducting site visits, safety reviews, and environmental scans.
Supporting planning and procurement of equipment and facility upgrades.
Collaborating with Facilities and senior leadership on compliance and best practices.
Supporting professional learning related to safety and applied learning programs.
Developing resources and tools to support safety awareness and instructional excellence.

Bachelor of Education Degree
Valid Saskatchewan Professional A teacher certificate
Master\'s Degree in a related field preferred
Minimum five years of teaching experience (PAA preferred)
Experience in applied learning or safety leadership
Safety certifications considered assets
This position is based out of the Education Centre or an assigned school location as mutually determined between the incumbent and the school division. Travel within the division is required; system fleet vehicles are available or mileage is paid for use of a personal vehicle. The successful candidate will receive a 10% allowance, in addition to their regular salary, as per the LINC Agreement.
