This role owns portfolio strategy, lifecycle management, profitability, and growth for Cable Protection Systems ensuring alignment with ABB’s business objectives, market requirements, and customer needs.Reporting to the Industrial Portfolio Manager, the Product Manager works cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D and Quality teams to define product strategy, drive new product introductions, manage existing offerings, and execute go‑to‑market priorities. The role plays a critical part in translating market insights and Voice of Customer into actionable product roadmaps that deliver sustainable revenue growth and margin performance in the Canadian Industrial market.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Strategy and OwnershipOwn the product portfolio strategy for Cable Protection Systems in alignment with ELIP Canada and global product strategiesDefine portfolio vision, priorities, and multi‑year roadmaps to drive profitable growth and market shareLead portfolio reviews, gap analysis, and investment recommendations based on market dynamics and financial performanceProduct Lifecycle ManagementManage the full product lifecycle from concept, business case, and development through launch, maintenance, and phase‑outEnsure product data integrity, pricing governance, and lifecycle status accuracy across internal systemsDrive continuous portfolio optimization based on performance, customer feedback, and competitive activityMarket and Customer InsightAnalyze market trends, standards, competitive landscape, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunitiesAct as the Voice of Customer for the portfolio, translating insights into clear product requirements and value propositionsSupport key customer engagements, field visits, and sales enablement activities as requiredNew Product Introduction and InnovationLead business case development for new products, enhancements, and portfolio extensionsPartner with R&D, and Operations to execute NPI programs on time, on scope, and on budgetSupport innovation governance processes, including opportunity intake, prioritization, and gate reviewsGo‑to‑Market and Cross‑Functional ExecutionCollaborate with Product Marketing to define positioning, value propositions, and launch plansSupport sales enablement through training, tools, and technical guidanceCoordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to ensure product availability, quality, and customer satisfactionFinancial and Performance AccountabilityOwn portfolio P&L inputs, including revenue, margin, pricing, and cost initiativesTrack and report portfolio KPIs, ensuring alignment with ELIP Canada targets and business plansContribute to annual planning, forecasting, and strategic reviewsQualifications for the roleEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience considered an assetMinimum 5 years of experience in Product Management, Sales and/or MarketingDemonstrated experience managing complex product portfolios with full lifecycle ownershipProduct Management CompetenciesStrong understanding of portfolio strategy, product lifecycle management, and go‑to‑market executionProven ability to translate market and customer insights into actionable product strategies and roadmapsExperience developing business cases, financial analyses, and investment recommendationsCross‑Functional LeadershipStrong collaboration skills with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, and Global teamsAbility to influence without direct authority and drive execution across multiple stakeholdersComfortable operating in a matrixed organizationBusiness and Analytical SkillsStrong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, financials, and performance metricsExperience managing pricing, margin, and profitability initiativesStructured, data‑driven decision‑making approachCommunication and LanguageClear, concise communicator with the ability to present to senior leadership and cross‑functional teamsBilingual French and English required.
