- Lead design projects to deliver advanced solutions and electical test systems;
- Exhibit mastery in at least one specialized skill area (e.g., IP tester, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, solar tester), with a strong understanding of related technologies.
- Review and approve drawing packages for design content, accuracy, and safety, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
- Mentor and coach other designers, actively supporting team development and contributing expertise across multiple projects beyond personal workload.
- Independently schedule and manage own projects, collaborating with project managers to ensure timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
- Represent the division to customers on-site, leveraging technical expertise to support sales initiatives and strengthen client relationships.
- Manage customer interactions at a technical level, facilitating smooth project execution and reducing the project manager’s technical workload.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing department methods, practices, and tools, under the direction of the department manager.
- Proactively identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and methods relevant to the industry and ATS Test System products.
- Contribute to the achievement of departmental and company-wide improvement goals, assisting in the development and execution of strategic objectives.
- Ensure all business activities are conducted with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with the ATS code of business conduct.
- A post-secondary technology diploma or engineering equivalent;
- A minimum of 10 years related electrical design experience including a minimum of 5 years designing electronic test equipment.
- Complete knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and the ability to keep abreast of leading-edge instrumentation technology is essential.
- Work in conformance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures and compliance to legislative requirements
- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts, defect in any equipment or protective device, and any accidents/incidents to the supervisor
- Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for assigned tasks
- Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents where applicable
- Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
