- Respond to service calls for commercial and industrial plumbing and gas systems
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain domestic water, sanitary, storm, and process piping systems
- Service, repair, and troubleshoot gas-fired equipment within the scope of a Gasfitter B license (e.g., boilers, unit heaters, hot water tanks, etc.)
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and system evaluations
- Identify deficiencies, recommend repairs or system improvements, and provide accurate repair scopes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation as required
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (Plumbing Code, Gas Code, safety requirements)
- Complete work orders, service reports, and digital documentation accurately and efficiently
- Communicate professionally with customers, facility managers, and internal project teams
- Coordinate service work with other trades and supervisors as required
- Maintain and operate tools, equipment, and company vehicle in a safe and professional manner
- Participate in occasional after-hours service work, as required
- Adhere to Black & McDonald's safety policies and actively participate in safety meetings and training
- Journeyperson Plumber certification (Red Seal or Manitoba equivalent)
- 3-5+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial service plumbing and gas work
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently
- Solid knowledge of gas-fired equipment, hydronic systems, and commercial plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
- Physically capable of performing duties of the trade, including lifting, climbing, confined space work, and working in mechanical rooms
- Valid Manitoba Gasfitter B (Class B) Ticket (preferred)
- Experience servicing hospitals, industrial plants, institutional, or large commercial facilities
- Experience with service contracts and facility maintenance environments
- Familiarity with mobile service reporting software
- Safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space, or Aerial Work Platforms
