As an applicant, it is your responsibility to ensure that you check your email regularly.Please submit your resume by clicking “I am Interested” below.The Wellness Specialist is the leader and primary point of contact for our customers and other fitness staff during their scheduled shift. In addition, you will have the opportunity to personal train either one on one or in small groups during the shift.Accountabilities include:
  • Provide leadership during evening and weekend peak hours to ensure that all operating procedures, emergency procedures and health and safety guidelines are followed consistently. Provide a safe environment for staff and pass holders. As front-line leadership, you will be responsible to develop and mentor other staff and act as a main point of contact for our fitness centre users
  • Provide an enhanced customer experience through the provision of value-added services including, Family Track Attack, Wellness Workshops, Youth Strength Training certifications and Wellness Consultations
  • Work with youth, adults, families and community partners, one on one and in small groups to ensure their physical literacy and programs are developed, supported and sustained
  • Act as a mentor for practicum students and assist with the onboarding of new fitness staff
  • Perform sanitization, cleaning and light maintenance of spaces and equipment
  • Assist the Active for Life Coordinator with various program related tasks and responsibilities
  • As a Personal Trainer, work one-on-one or in a group setting and provide safe and effective exercise programs for clients
You Bring:
  • 2-year diploma in Personal Training or Kinesiology as well as a CSEP-CPT certification. Other various fitness related certifications would be an asset (copy of certifications must be submitted with application)
  • Understanding of physical literacy and program development is an asset
  • A minimum age of 18 years is required
  • Current Intermediate First Aid - Level C CPR and AED certification (copy must be submitted with application)
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement and decision-making skills in a front-line leadership role in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
