Adecco is currently hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a full-time opportunity based in Thunder Bay, ON. This role is ideal for an experienced and driven engineering professional looking to take on leadership responsibilities while contributing to a wide range of commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead mechanical design and project delivery efforts from concept through to completion. You will also play a key role in client relationship management, project coordination, technical design, and mentoring junior team members within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.Pay Rate: $100,000 - $140,000/yearLocation: Thunder Bay, ONSchedule: Full-time, Monday to FridayContract: PermanentVacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design and engineering work across multiple concurrent projects from proposal stage through to completionPerform mechanical system design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, energy modelling, and system upgradesPrepare engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specificationsManage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and overall project performanceCoordinate and collaborate with architects, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teamsOversee construction administration activities including site reviews, shop drawing reviews, and project coordination meetingsSupport business development activities including proposal preparation and client engagementProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and drafting staffConduct site investigations, condition assessments, and field reviews as requiredEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirementsSupport project execution across multiple delivery models including design-bid-build and design-buildMaintain strong client relationships and support ongoing business development opportunitiesRequirementsMust be eligible to work and reside within CanadaBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally within consulting or construction environmentsLicensed or eligible for P.Eng. designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)Strong experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system designExperience with commercial, institutional, and/or light industrial building projectsStrong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinationExperience with construction administration and field reviewsStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teamsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesValid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as requiredWhy Work with This ClientOpportunity to join a well-established, employee-owned engineering firmStrong focus on mentorship, professional growth, and career developmentExposure to diverse and challenging projects across multiple sectorsCollaborative and supportive team environmentLong-term stability with opportunities for advancementInterested in this position?
