You will be responsible for managing a team on projects and will interact with lenders, business owners andmanagement teams to develop options to resolve various financial challenges. You will also participate in thedevelopment of proposals and presentations to clients and carry out industry research. This may include sectorand/or specific target research to identify prospects for the team to pursue.
As part of this role, you will also be expected to pursue the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional(“CIRP”) designation and work towards becoming a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Alternatively, you will possess anequivalent accreditation in another jurisdiction.About the teamTurnaround, Restructuring Services & Cost Transformation (“TRCT”) is a national Deloitte practice providingprofessional services to owners, lenders, management and regulators of challenged and under-performingbusinesses. Work can range from the financial turnaround or restructuring of businesses to formal insolvencyproceedings. Our professionals work collaboratively with clients in financial crisis, enabling them to survive andregain profitability. They systematically address the key strategic, operational and financial trouble spots of abusiness to rapidly diagnose any problem. Our professionals can then identify immediate stabilizing activities,provide operational and performance improvement advice, and address debt-structuring and refinancing, orrecovery needs.Enough about us, let’s talk about youAre you someone with:
- An undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials
- A CPA (or successful CFE writer waiting to qualify as a CPA)
- 2 to 5 years of relevant insolvency or turnaround experience
- A familiarity with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, the
- Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, and other relevant legislation
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word skills
- Proven analytical skills and a history of systematic problem solving and a willingness to bring innovativesolutions to restructuring problems
- Strong interpersonal and interview skills, particularly in crisis situations
- Flexibility for mobility for out-of-town assignment
- Professional flexibility to support valuation, forensic, corporate finance, transaction services, value creationservices or other deal needs
- A desire for new experiences and constant growth
