What you'll be doing
  • Detect and apprehend shoplifters or those committing fraud while following proper procedures and protocols in accordance with Section 494 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Complete & compile necessary evidence and paperwork in a timely and professional manner
  • In partnership with the retail store staff, identify possible shrinkage concerns
  • Respond to electronic article surveillance alarms
  • Document all violations and communicate with Store Manager and Loss Prevention management
  • Report all incidents of unsafe store conditions and associate conduct
  • Take immediate action to remedy any imminent safety hazard
  • Represent the store in a positive manner
  • Record daily activities and complete incident reports
What we're looking for
  • Valid Security Guard licence
  • Prior security experience as a Loss Prevention Officer required
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
  • Some knowledge of applicable laws
  • Basic understanding of law enforcement
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Meticulous record keeping, report writing and observation skills
  • Available to work days, evenings and weekends, as schedules may vary
