
Sr Analyst, Fund Oversight and Tax

- Leading the daily coordination and oversight of accounting, custody, tax, and financial reporting activities outsourced to the fund administrator.
- Managing monthly and annual distributions for Funds and Unit Trusts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinating and reviewing semi-annual and annual financial statements under IFRS, including portfolio risk assessments, analysis, and commentary.
- Participating in monthly oversight and conducting regular due diligence meetings with the fund administrator.
- Monitoring fund valuations and fair valuation processes to uphold NAV (Net Asset Value) accuracy and consistency.
- Completing reconciliations, internal reporting, and preparing materials for oversight committees as needed.
- Overseeing regulatory documentation required for fund operations, such as market openings and tax reclaim declarations.
- Preparing necessary tax filings for the Funds, including GST/HST calculations and SLFI returns.
- Reviewing and monitoring Management Expense Ratio (MER) calculations while ensuring proper accounting and allocation.
- Providing key support during the annual audit process for the Funds and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Supporting business process improvement initiatives to optimize operations and drive efficiency.
- Developing and implementing analytical strategies to enhance decision-making capabilities and performance insights.
- Contributing to ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives as directed by senior leadership.
- A bachelor's degree, ideally in business administration, finance, economics, or mathematics.
- At least five years of progressively expanding experience within a mutual fund company or related industry.
- Professional designations, or active pursuit of a designation such as CPA, are strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of the Canadian investment fund industry and mutual fund operations.
- Strong accounting expertise (fund accounting preferred) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills combined with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under time constraints, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Confidentiality in handling sensitive information and a commitment to process improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team or independently.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken).
