- Mentoring, training and supervising of junior and intermediate staff
- Ensuring assigned employees are trained in and maintain company procedures, health & safety protocols, and programs
- Continue the ongoing development of our geotechnical team through supporting and encouraging technical upgrading and providing direction and mentorship on complex issues and field investigations;
- Scheduling assessments and meetings with clients/contractors
- Assigning work to field staff as appropriate depending on workloads and in conjunction with the Operations Manager
- Preparing contract documents, proposals, and reports
- Providing clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelines
- Manage and/or review projects from the proposal stage through to completion, including allocation of budgets, personnel and resources, billing and client relationships;
- Maintain technical proficiency, including participation in professional practice groups and organizations;
- Participate in the preparation and presentation of training programs
- Manage financial aspects of projects, including personnel and subcontractors
- Building strong relationships with management of the geotechnical and other Pinchin service lines, including finding opportunities for partnership between the services;
- Help administrative staff with accounts receivables as required
- Review of cost estimates/proposals for potential clients
- Perform direct marketing and developing work for new and existing clients
- Lead and actively pursue new business and project opportunities by maintaining and developing new client relationships;
- Participate in Pinchin marketing initiatives
- Meet with clients to determine project requirements
- University degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience.
- Senior level experience in a geotechnical engineering.
- A Professional Engineering Designation in British Columbia or be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
- Able to work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation and Building Sciences.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively, as well as proactively respond to clients on time sensitive items.
- Can demonstrate that you are well organized and shows initiative.
- The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients and managers.
