Job DescriptionWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?We are looking for a highly motivated Quality Engineer with automation testing experience to join the QE team in Compliance IT. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of testing within the product group with the focus in automation to enable greater test coverage and faster delivery. Quality Engineer’s will engage with the Product/Project Team to identify testing requirements, define testing timelines, plan/execute QE activities and report/track defects.Quality Engineer’s will report to Senior QE Manager and this role requires both hands on and leadership experience in QE areas to resolve all issues/ queries that will allow the team (onshore and offshore) to deliver their tasks in a timely manner.Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaborationWHAT WILL YOU DO?Involve in both manual testing and all aspects of automation (plan, script, execute, analyze and report) using organization’s framework/tools and standardsAs a Quality Engineer, you will be driving automation testing initiatives within the program under the direction of overall QE vision and strategy.Work with team members (PM/Scrum Masters, Dev and Business Analysts) to understand objectives and map out testing and automation requirements.Design and develop new automation framework or maintain existing one to ensure testing process is comprehensive and add value to team’s goal under the direction of overall QE vision and strategySupport all test activities, enhance, develop and execute automated/manual test scripts, record and track software discrepancies and issuesPerform different levels of testing based on business requirements – Functional, Regression, Integration and Performance testing.Create QE deliverables including but not limit to test plan, test cases and automation support documents.Work with JIRA, Confluence and qTest for test case management, defect management, test reporting and other functionsWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must have:A relevant degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a comparable field of study.3+ years of QE Testing experience with a focus on Test automation3+ years of hands-on experience in automation script development using Python in data analysis (e.g. Pandas, Dask, etc.)Working knowledge of automations tools and frameworks. (Robot Framework, Selenium, Python, Request Library)Basic Knowledge in UNIX commands and open-source terminal emulator applications like PuTTYExperience working with DevOps pipelines – Helios, GIT, GitHub, UCD.Knowledge of web services and API testing – PostManProficient in Test Management tools like JIRA and qTest.Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
