- Perform complex field service operations that require strong technical skills.
- The FST 1 will be called upon to take on the additional duties of Crew Leader, Technical Field Advisor or Qualified Electrical Worker to meet project staffing demands.
- Troubleshoot and repair of power and distribution electrical equipment, applying own knowledge and experience to resolve problems, recommend changes, or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate clearly and professionally (written and/or verbal) regarding project scope, safety reviews (i.e., tailgate meetings), security or environmental incidents, safety violations, or near misses.
- Provide leadership and guide less experienced technicians, instructing them in proper and safe operation of equipment and tasks.
- Perform all tasks associated with on-site repair of high voltage electrical equipment such as but not limited to; re - gaskets/O-rings of GIS and HV breakers assembly, gas filling and recovery, inspections and testing. Prepare technical testing reports and time management reports for project completion
- High school diploma, or GED
- Electrical Engineering, or technical vocational diploma, apprenticeship training combined with prior field service or equivalent related experience is preferred. Power System Electrician or Red Seal Electrician is preferred.
- Instrumentation, Millwright, Industrial Maintenance experience will be an asset Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools and their functions
- Ideally five (5) - ten (10) years of related OEM, industrial, commercial or utility power system experience
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rule, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
- Class 5 Drivers License with good defensive driving skills.
