Explore with us-your journey starts here.What You'll DoReporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Executive Assistant is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the Offices of the Warden and CAO. The incumbent provides self-directed and complex executive support to the Office of the CAO, the Warden and Council, including handling sensitive political and human resource issues, the creation of plans, and coordinating administrative and support functions for the Executive Offices. This role acts as the primary point of contact for the Office of the CAO.What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience
Post secondary degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, or related field
Five (5) years of previous work experience in an administrative or executive assistant role
Minimum of two (2) years in a municipal setting is an asset
Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of legislation affecting municipalities (e.g., Municipal Act, MFIPPA, etc.) and understanding of municipal programs and services
Knowledge of general office procedures, including financial, budget, records and information management filing system
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to write and format moderately complex correspondence, including memos and letters
Demonstrated time management skills
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
Meticulous records maintenance skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
