- Manage teams and individuals responsible for approving credit limits for new and existing customers based on financial analysis and credit worthiness.
- Set clear goals and objectives and monitor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide professional development opportunities for team members.
- Manage the entire accounts receivable and collections process, including reconciling customer accounts.
- Establish credit procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth credit and collections processes.
- Formulate and execute effective collection procedures to reduce outstanding balances and enhance team efficiency.
- Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Review aging reports and proactively manage delinquent accounts.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquency rates and improve cash flow.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve customer disputes and payment issues. Work in partnership with legal department and external firms to resolve more complex litigation cases.
- Address and resolve customer disputes and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor credit and collections dashboards and report performance to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in credit and collections, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Or an equivalent combination of Education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills; fluent French and English, given the national nature of the responsibilities and duties of this role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Expertise in financial software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with collection software.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Preferred experience in the retail industry.
- Curious and problem-solving mindset, with a passion for identifying and implementing process improvements.
- A team player, exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
