What you will doOur Ottawa and Halifax offices is seeking undergraduate students to join the team as a Co-op or Summer Intern in Winter 2026, Summer 2026 or Fall 2026 as a part of our Risk Services practice.Our Governance, Risk and Compliance Services TeamKPMG Canada’s Risk Services practice applies exponential thinking and emerging technologies to solve today’s challenges. Join a diverse team that is always curious and learning, thinking independently and working collaboratively, has a passion to solve difficult problems for our clients, and has fun doing it.As a GRCS (Governance, Risk and Compliance Services) Analytics - Data Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to work across geographies and industries to take on challenging and ground-breaking projects while building strong relationships with our people and developing professional skills that will help set you up for success.
- Work closely with clients in understanding key business issues.
- Gather and analyze requirements to develop impactful recommendations and solutions.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to solve challenging business problems
- Work with large volumes of data (structured and unstructured).
- Leverage a diverse set of technologies and tools to deliver insights, including generative AI tools.
- Develop a strong experience in analytics, statistics, data engineering, reporting, visualization, intelligent automation, data management, data governance and data quality.
- Develop problem solving ability through the use and/or development of algorithms, models, testing, etc.
- Run queries for descriptive analytics and provide formatted result sets.
- Proactively contribute to the creation of presentation materials relating to data activities for stakeholder discussions.
- Bridge the gap between technical platform needs and business issues.
- Perform quantitative analysis of data issues.
- Effectively communicate orally and written with peers within GRCS, KPMG and the client.

- Strong experience working with different kinds of messy, real-world data.
- Independent ability to review data quality and data definitions and perform data cleansing and data management tasks.
- Strong knowledge and/or experience in the following: Python and SQL coding, BI tools (like Tableau and PowerBI) and effective Prompt Engineering skills in using generative AI tools (like ChatGPT Enterpise, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, open source models like LlaMA, DeepSeek, etc.).
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team to tackle ambiguous data processing problems across a diverse range of industries.
- Experience in data governance, data quality, data processing, and data controls.
- Client-facing or consulting experience.
- Experience communicating insights or ideas through presentations and meetings.
- Ability to explain data and analytics concepts to non-technical team members.
- Ability to apply data and analytics concepts to business problems.
- Ability to understand and explain business value of data and analytics concepts.
- Ability to provide crucial consultation, analysis, and recommendations on a broad range of projects in a deadline-driven environment with ambiguity.
- Effectively work as part of a project team and communicate findings of analysis, key implications, and recommendations in written and verbal formats.
- Effectively use generative AI tools to streamline tasks, automate repetitive processes, accelerate data analysis, and reveal deeper insights that would otherwise require significant manual effort.
