Project OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Privacy & Security Specialist to support key health ministry initiatives in Alberta. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with health information legislation, managing privacy risks, and supporting the implementation of secure eHealth technologies across multiple programs. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide privacy and security support across health ministry initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies
  • Lead and support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement privacy and security processes for eHealth technologies
  • Assess and mitigate privacy and security risks across multiple projects and releases
  • Develop privacy and security documentation, guidance materials, and training content
  • Support governance activities, including participation in meetings and reporting
  • Coordinate privacy and security activities across multiple workstreams
  • Ensure compliance with Health Information Act (HIA) and related policies
  • Provide advisory support to program teams on privacy, security, and compliance matters
  • Contribute to Responsible AI initiatives by developing privacy and security guidance
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience conducting and interpreting risk and impact assessments (PIA, TRA)
  • 5+ years of experience in business writing, communication, and documentation
  • At least 1 year of experience working with AI technologies (e.g., machine learning, NLP)
  • Strong knowledge of privacy and security principles, preferably within healthcare
Nice to Have
  • Extensive experience with Alberta health information legislation and policies
  • Experience coordinating privacy, security, and information management initiatives
  • Experience developing training materials and training plans
  • Experience in change management
  • Experience developing policies related to information management and security
  • Hands-on experience implementing data security and privacy controls
  • Experience with Responsible AI principles
Additional Information
  • Work must be performed within Canada
  • Occasional travel to Edmonton may be required (costs not covered)

Position 2
Location: Calgary, AB (Onsite 5 days/week) Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Business Consultant to join the Business Analysis and Engagement Team (BAET). This role operates at the intersection of business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and system operations, supporting both ongoing application maintenance and large-scale project initiatives.The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who can balance strategic thinking with execution, and effectively collaborate across government, regulatory, and industry stakeholders in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Application Maintenance & Support (AMS)
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the Petrinex system and its reporting functions
  • Participate in change management forums with stakeholders and regulators
  • Analyze, prioritize, and document system enhancements and defect resolutions
  • Provide impact analysis, risk assessments, and business rationale for changes
  • Develop and execute user acceptance test cases and document results
  • Support business users with issue resolution, training, and guidance
  • Ensure system functionality aligns with regulatory requirements
2. Project Support & Industry Readiness
  • Contribute to solution design with an industry end-user perspective
  • Support requirements gathering, documentation, and validation
  • Lead or support acceptance testing and end-to-end testing activities
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and learning resources
  • Support development and execution of Industry Readiness and Communication Plans
  • Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders on interoperability and system integration
  • Manage readiness scorecards and stakeholder engagement tracking
3. Stakeholder & Industry Engagement
  • Represent Petrinex in stakeholder and industry committee meetings
  • Gather feedback, identify enhancement opportunities, and escalate issues
  • Collaborate with government, regulators, and industry partners
  • Support roadmap planning and strategic discussions
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst translating business requirements into detailed functional specifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in User Acceptance Testing, including test planning, execution, and sign-off
  • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proven ability to work in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Experience with change management and system implementation support
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oil and gas, energy, or regulatory reporting systems (e.g., Petrinex or similar)
  • Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
  • Experience developing training materials and supporting end users
  • Experience with application support and defect management
  • Professional certification with CAPPA (Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting)
Work Arrangement
  • Onsite: 5 days per week
  • Location: Calgary, AB
  • Hours: 08:15 16:30 (Monday to Friday)
  • Work must be performed within Canada
