Regina or SaskatoonOn behalf of our client, Wynward Insurance we are recruiting for a Senior Underwriter who can be located in either Regina, or Saskatoon. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Senior Underwriter will be responsible for the profitable growth of Wynward Insurance Group's position within the Saskatchewan region with an identified portfolio of brokers through a combination of sound underwriting and business development skills.The successful candidate must be customer focused, able to establish and maintain positive working relationships, possess high attention to detail skills, demonstrate leadership abilities, and prioritize tasks to meet competing deadlines.As the Senior Underwriter (New Business), you will:
- Produce and underwrite new accounts for risk profitability in accordance with company policies, procedures and underwriting guidelines.
- Provide exceptional service to identified broker partners targeted for growth.
- Develop, expand and maintain strong broker relationships within the region through regular visits and communication.
- Deliver presentations on Wynward's product offerings and targeted classes.
- Provide mentorship & coaching to junior underwriting team members.
- Liaison with the Business Development team in gathering and communicating competitive market intelligence.
- Represent Wynward Insurance Group at various industry functions to drive brand awareness.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience of Senior Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriter experience in mid to large market accounts.
- A proven track record of exceeding sales and development targets.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to interpret wordings and explain coverages.
- Strong analytical, assessment, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong business acumen, resourceful, and detail oriented.
- Post-secondary education, CIP or FCIP designation preferred.
