Job Description:About the job:
Kent is looking for a Temporary Power/Preservation Coordinator to support the Kearl Project in Fort McKay, Alberta. This role is responsible for coordinating temporary power systems and preservation activities to ensure equipment integrity and readiness for commissioning and startup.Skills and Responsibilities:Responsibilities:Temporary Power Coordination
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage temporary power requirements across the project site.
  • Ensure safe installation, operation, and maintenance of temporary power systems.
  • Interface with construction and electrical teams to support project needs.
Preservation Management
  • Develop and implement preservation plans for mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ensure preservation activities are executed in accordance with project specifications and OEM requirements.
  • Track preservation status and maintain accurate records.
Inspection & Compliance
  • Conduct regular inspections of temporary power systems and preserved equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and project procedures.
  • Identify and resolve deficiencies.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain logs for temporary power usage and preservation activities.
  • Provide reports on equipment status and preservation compliance.
  • Support turnover documentation and readiness for commissioning.
Interface & Coordination
  • Work closely with Construction, Commissioning, QA/QC, and SCDB teams.
  • Support system handover and readiness reviews.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:
  • Technical diploma or trade certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in temporary power coordination and/or equipment preservation on industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of temporary power systems and preservation techniques.
  • Experience with commissioning and completions processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and tracking systems.
Communication:
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines.
  • Clear reporting and documentation skills.
