- Develop, manage, and support budgets and financial forecasts to guide business planning and decision-making
- Partner with the Cost Accountant to support standard product cost calculations, including material, labor, and overhead components
- Assist with cost roll-ups, cost updates, and variance analysis, identifying key drivers and explaining variances versus standards, budgets, and forecasts
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement
- Work closely with the Operations teams and cost center managers to monitor and control costs to ensure expenditures align with approved budgets and financial targets
- Support the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and related analyses
- Evaluate accounting records and prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders
- Communicate financial insights, analyses, and recommendations to cross-functional partners and senior management
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations, and support internal and external audits as required
- Drive process improvement, digitalization, and automation by identifying inefficiencies, enhancing data accuracy, and improving reporting efficiency
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses, providing financial and analytical support to meet evolving business needs
- Perform additional duties as required to support Finance and cross-functional objectives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in a similar finance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to standard costing, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis is an asset
- Experience supporting month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Familiarity with internal controls, audit processes, and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and explain complex financial data
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is an asset
- Experience with Power BI and AI-driven analytics to support reporting and decision-making is an asset
- High attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy, controls, and data integrity
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to cross-functional partners and management
