Join us and be part of something bigger.Job Profile descriptionAs a Lead Extend Developer in Kainos, you’ll lead a team of specialist extend consultants on a project, ensuring the successful delivery of extend solutions for the cloud based Workday system.As a knowledgeable expert in Extend, you will work closely with customers to lead the Workday Extend project, and will scope, gather requirements, document, implement, deploy and support applications, using the Workday Extend platform toolset.You’ll build strong relationships with our customers to understand their requirements, ensuring that the solution is aligned to their needs, fit for purpose and commercially viable.You’ll be a key contributor to guiding, developing and educating others within the Workday practice on the area of Extend.Minimum (essential) requirements:Proficiency with XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, and be knowledgeable in an object oriented programming language (preferably J2EE)Experience of designing applications to solve business and technical problemsGood understanding of cloud computing, web services and associated challengesExcellent customer focus, able to assess customer needs, build relationships and manage customer expectations. You will know when to push back, when to escalate, and when to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer;Strong communicator, able to communicate with customers and colleagues with impact, credibility and empathy, including in a remote working situation.Sound ability to formally present to senior Client audiences;Strong commercial awareness and full understanding of project and business dynamics;Broad business and technology understanding and a good awareness of industry trends in both HR and HR technology;Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure taking a balanced view of Customer demands and Kainos commercials;Desirable:Workday HCM Certified, or experience with other similar HCM/ ERP systemsProficiency in other middleware/ application development platformsProficiency in object-oriented programming language or web development languageExperience of designing workflows to solve business and technical problemsExperience of managing, mentoring and developing teamsPeople management:
Your role may or may not involve managing people. Where you do have direct reports your responsibilities may include:Agreeing, setting and reviewing your and your team’s goals aligned to Kainos, Workday practice and your CapabilityProviding support so that your and your team’s goals can be achievedReviewing and refining goals for relevance and to keep performance on trackReviewing performance against goals and provide feedbackConducting 1:1 monthly and/or project completion feedback meetingsRequesting and providing regular feedback in WorkdayCompleting End of Year reviews and agreeing the outcomes for the yearIdentifying training to support your and your team’s developmentPursuing and supporting your and your team members’ career paths and progressionReviewing weekly workload forecasting (staff allocations and timesheet checks) and utilisationActively being involved in recruitment/interviewsReviewing attrition and retention metricsEmbracing our differencesAt Kainos, we believe in the power of diversity, equity and inclusion.
