As a Senior Manager, Tax your responsibilities will include:
  • Working closely with clients and the engagement team to develop exceptional tax planning ideas and solutions to achieve our clients’ business objectives
  • Being a leader in the management and development of our growing tax practice.
  • Being a brand ambassador and participating in the advancement of Doane Grant Thornton through networking, participating in speaking engagements, and involvement in the community.
  • Assisting clients to manage their income tax planning, implementation and compliance requirements including privately held businesses and multi-national corporations; advising on corporate, personal, and trust matters.
  • Identifying, developing and pursuing new opportunities both organically and with value-added tax services.
  • Providing exceptional client service.
  • Staying attuned and responding to new legislation, interpretations and market factors that impact our clients.
  • Participating in the growth and development of your colleagues by providing forward focused feedback on a timely basis to all levels, coaching and training more junior team members and facilitating effective and timely performance discussions
  • Preparing and presenting information to clients, colleagues and other professionals.
  • Continually building an environment of trust and openness to learning for our colleagues.

Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:
  • A recognized professional accounting designation, LLB or other appropriate combination of work experience and academic credentials (i.e. master’s degree in tax).
  • Completion of CICA In-depth program
  • Substantive expertise with the tax-related aspects of corporate tax accounting and compliance; Canadian domestic tax and shareholder planning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Strong interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth.
· Ability to develop, present and apply new ideas, creative approaches and innovative solutions.
  • Accepts personal responsibility for the success of self, team and firm . Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $122,200 - $180,000 in Vancouver. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.Our special culture shines through when we have the opportunity to connect in person.
