Here, you'll make a tangible impact, advance your career, and contribute to a culture that's evolving to make life better for all.In this key leadership role, the Operations Director, Maternal, Newborn, Child & Youth and Allied Health Programs, will work in collaboration with the Vice President, Clinical & CNE, Operations Directors, Medical Directors, Department Chiefs, their Managers, and other key team members to lead, innovate and grow the Maternal, Newborn, Child & Youth & Allied Health Programs. The Operations Director oversees a comprehensive suite of programs, including the birthing unit, postpartum inpatient unit, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), paediatrics inpatient unit, child & youth ambulatory care, allied health and rehabilitation services.Success in this role requires the ability to excel in real-time problem-solving, driving continuous improvements, and enhancing the overall operational performance of the health centre. The ideal candidate possesses a background in healthcare and operations, demonstrating proficiency in identifying and implementing solutions to address complex challenges faced by clinical staff, health care providers and the public in the delivery of healthcare.What You'll Do:
  • Drive strategic growth and innovation by continuously evolving and refining business strategies, performance metrics, and operational goals for the Maternal, Newborn, Child & Youth, and Allied Health Programs. This includes enhancing program delivery, improving patient outcomes, and integrating cutting-edge technologies to address emerging healthcare needs.
  • Foster dynamic partnerships and collaboration by building and strengthening relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The Operations Director will ensure seamless coordination with healthcare providers, community partners, and relevant organizations to improve service delivery and expand program impact.
  • Shape the future of healthcare facilities by actively contributing to the planning and redevelopment of the north campus, while also leading the design and vision for the upcoming south campus ensuring a patient-centered approach, optimizing care pathways, and supporting growth in high-demand service areas.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, cohesive team by empowering, mentoring, and developing a unified workforce. With a relentless commitment to service excellence, the Operations Director will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation, ensuring that every team member is aligned with the overarching goal of delivering exceptional, compassionate patient care.
  • Provide creative and effective leadership to support clinical decision making and patient care
  • Working with community partners, Ontario Health to advance activities that promote seamless patient care across the continuum
  • Planning and coordinating patient care services within the program to ensure exceptional patient and family experiences
  • Accountable for the effective management of all financial and human resources within the program
  • Ensuring quality performance standards are met
  • Foster an environment and culture that will ensure patient and staff safety, people first culture and drives individual accountability
  • The development and implementation of the annual operating plan that is based upon the organization's strategic plan
  • Provide visionary leadership to ensure the development and implementation of clinical programs and to achieve excellence (systems, structures and processes) that support the provision of efficient and patient-centred care, including clinical excellence in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Lead and manage multiple teams and projects in operations, service delivery, policy development and ensuring accurate modelling and forecasting
  • Demonstrate the ability to support and enhance our purpose of making life better, with the care you need, close to home.
What We're Looking For:Education
  • Master's Degree in a health-related discipline or administration is preferred, or a bachelor's degree in a related field and equivalent years of services.
  • Regulated Health Professional or Professional Designation is preferred.
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in complex acute care environment, managing large multiple disciplinary teams and projects spanning operations, patient care, service delivery, policy development, and integrated care planning.
  • A proactive advocate for transformation, strategic decision-making, and adept management of change to facilitate the development and implementation of clinical programs, systems and structure that support efficient, patient-centred care.
  • Demonstrated excellence in building relationships, fostering collaboration, and effectively training and mentoring others to meet program targets and goals.
Competencies
  • Proven experience in policy and program development, stakeholder relations, collaboration with government entities, and a strong understanding of clinical service delivery, finance, and data.
  • Possess advance knowledge of relevant legislation/regulations and is well versed in leading service delivery models and best practices in patient flow/transition planning.
  • Financial acumen, statistical analysis, labour relations skills, strategic planning, goal setting, and customer service skills are required.
  • Strong change agent with experience building and supporting a people first culture
