- Lead the Civil design in preparation of Rail guideway and roadway civil design drawings, including profiles, cross-sections, earthworks, grading, drainage, and underground services.
- Lead and manage the civil design project team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Attend and represent the civil design team in project meetings, workshops, and presentations. Serve as the primary point of contact for civil design matters with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Manage design changes and ensure proper documentation and communication with the project team.
- Oversee the preparation of reports, calculations, technical memos, and meeting minutes. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures for civil design deliverables.
- Manage the civil design budget, monitor team performance and workload, adjusting as necessary to meet project demands.
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on transportation projects, particularly Railway systems, Roadways and Highways.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing design teams in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment.
- Experience in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Proven track record of successfully managing civil design components of large-scale infrastructure projects, from conception through to completion.
- Expertise in designing Rail Transit guideways, roadway civil design, including profiles, cross-sections, earthworks, grading, storm drainage systems, erosion & sedimentation controls, and underground services.
- Strong familiarity with civil, transportation and drainage design standards and guidelines in Ontario and familiarity with municipal and provincial clients and approving agencies.
- Experience in attending and representing the civil design team in project meetings, workshops, and presentations.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads, MS Project.
- Project management experience would be an asset.
- Thorough understanding of the importance of health and safety.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
