Job Description:About Strescon LimitedEstablished in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollowcore slabs, precast pile, and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.Job SummaryWe are looking for a Production Coordinator to oversee our production operations at our Strescon Bedford location. This role is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees, organizing workflows, and schedules. This position requires a combination of technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to oversee others and meet production goals.Responsibilities
Oversee the daily production process, managing production schedules and time and review payroll allocation
Organize personnel and resources adequately to meet the company's production goals
Ensure specifications and quality standards are being met
Oversee attendance management program, and direct the crew accordingly
Manage leadhands, dealing with the daily issues brought up by the labourers, carpenters, and finishers
Ensure overall production efficiency and productivity, often involving strategic planning and long-term goals
Identify areas of improvement and making cases to drive innovative ideas
Other duties as assigned by the Plant Superintendent
Requirements
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the concrete industry
Previous experience with scheduling is a definite asset
Strong knowledge and understanding of construction drawings is important
High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential
Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
