Mackenzie Health is currently seeking an Associate Courtesy Ophthalmologist to service both sites, who would have access to available resources in the outpatient clinic within the Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology for general ophthalmology services. There is limited access to OR resources at the Regional Outpatient Cataract Centre at Southlake Regional Health Centre. The physician must complete a full credentialing application and must have their appointment approved by the Medical Advisory Committee and Board of Directors.Responsibilities
  • Provide timely assessments of hospital ophthalmology consults at both Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital.
  • Provide an equal share of evening and weekend regional on-call coverage with Southlake Regional HealthCentre and Markham Stouffville Hospital, approximately 1 in 10.
  • Support outpatient ophthalmology referrals from the Emergency Departments.

Education – Certification – Licenses
  • Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
  • Post Graduate training in Ophthalmology.
  • Certification in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCPC).
  • Canadian Medical Protection Association or equivalent in good standing.
  • Ontario Medical Association.
