Closing Date: May 4, 2024Position SummaryAs part of the UHN Digital - Medical Imaging team, the Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for the creation, execution and maintenance of a testing methodology for applications developed internally by the team.Duties
- Quickly acquire and retain knowledge of complex internally-developed applications and business processes.
- Take leadership role in all testing functions required for the successful deployment and maintenance of imaging information systems developed at UHN.
- Defining and implementing test strategy and planning for all projects. Includes test design, execution, documentation, and maintenance of test cases.
- Analyze test case results and document issues in tracking software.
- Work with the development team to determine the appropriate solution for addressing software anomalies or implementing improvements.
- Types of testing include software functionality, integration, performance, usability, and security.
- Provide assistance to onsite support team when escalations occur.
- Needs to be able to conduct regression testing.
- Needs to be proficient in Windows based application testing, web-application testing as well as server-side testing
- Note: This role requires manual QA testing; automation is minimal.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Two or more years of related experience in software test development.
- Previous experience in the medical imaging field or equivalent mission critical production environments is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience being solely responsible for the creation and execution of functional test plans and test cases from start to finish, proactively seeking information required to complete test design, as well as develop and execute test cases.
- Strong knowledge of QA theory and practice, as it applies to development and testing methodologies in an iterative development environment.
- Strong knowledge of HL7 application protocols and experience with testing HL7 interface engines.
- Ability to write SQL queries and use database tools to query the database.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Takes ownership for assigned tasks and holds oneself accountable for its success.
- Ability to perform server installations.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and distributed environments.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools and techniques.
- Ability to function productively on multiple project teams simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Effective time management and willingness to work extended hours as necessary to meet commitments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide level of effort estimates to Manager, Software Development, and to perform tasks within the estimated level of effort and schedule.
- Knowledge of DICOM standard an asset.
- Familiarity with C#/.NET programming language an asset.
- Familiarity using virtual machines for testing an asset.
