MissionAs market leaders in the design of power transmission and distribution (T&D) lines in Canada, our growing teams are called upon to produce innovative designs. You will be joining a highly specialized engineering design team that is focused on meeting the growing electricity demand while implementing clean energy projects for a sustainable future.Our Transmission Line Design team is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Line Engineer based out of our Vancouver, BC office.Primary Responsibilities
  • Execute and deliver small to large-scaled projects from design concepts to construction for voltages up to 735 kV
  • Use the PLS program suite to model, analyze, design and optimize route alignments, structure spotting and wood / steel / fibre reinforced structure designs
  • Provide technical advice, mentorship and guidance to less experienced professionals and share knowledge of the discipline
  • Prepare and issue technical specifications and reports, such as: design criteria, material quantities, plan & profile drawings, cost estimates, procurement and construction specifications part of issued for design reviews, tender & construction packages
  • Manage and supervise design team professionals for successful project delivery according to priorities, scope, budget and timelines.
  • Perform design reviews of project deliverables and lead technical review meetings with clients
  • Meet with clients, anticipate & plan client needs, prepare proposals, and define engineering budgets and timelines
  • Lead technical discussions with clients, project stakeholders and contractors to resolve project issues, such as, but not limited to, requests during construction and scope changes
  • Profile
  • University Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience
  • Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in Canada
  • Knowledge of Canadian utility standards and design practices
  • Structure (steel, concrete, fibre-reinforced) and Foundation design experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English (French an asset)
  • Mastery of PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower and Excel (programming skills is an asset)
  • Field review and site-engineer experience (an asset)
  • Underground Transmission design experience (an asset)
  • Demonstrated skills in Project Management and understanding of Project Management systems.
  • Willing to travel within Canada for short periods of time and available to work overtime on an as needed basis
  • Valid Driver's License
The expected salary for this position is from $77,840.00 to $110,700.00 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills and internal equity.
