
Sr. Director, Third Party Risk

- Delivery - Oversee the delivery of the enterprise-wide Third Party risk management capability, including risk assessments, risk management reporting and consulting. Manage compliance programs to address new regulatory requirements and emerging expectations, interfacing with the relevant business and compliance teams as required to obtain required funding and sponsorship. Direct and lead multiple projects and initiatives related to enterprise-wide Third Party risk management, including use of tools to improve quality and efficiency of reporting.
- Planning (strategic and tactical) - Develop plans for improvement of the Third Party risk management processes and oversee the implementation of risk process automation as required to support the processes.
- Internal and external relationship management - Maintain relationships with technology, business, risk and compliance stakeholders, ensuring that stakeholders are engaged at both the executive and management level. Establish and maintain key vendor relationship for the purpose of enhancing in house risk capabilities.
- Measurement & Reporting - Develop and oversee a set of metrics, reports and service-level agreements (SLAs) to govern risk management activities. Manage content and presentation of third party risk reports, ensuring consolidation of supplier and risk data from various internal stakeholders.
- Integration - Ensure effective integration of third party risk processes into other Enterprise Risk Management processes.
- Leadership and Team Management- Provide leadership and effective management of business unit staff to influence employee commitment to the organization, to the team, and to their job. Setting appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the business unit’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals; Building team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training. Managing performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities. Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect, and hiring the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
- Strong communicator: You have the drive and ability to deliver risk content and messaging to Senior Leadership, building innovative content and communication that demonstrates your command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation. You have the ability to synthesize supplier risk content and simplify down to key messages.
- You can demonstrate experience in Risk management. You have knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. You have knowledge and ability to use and administer the organization's practices, standards and procedures. You have knowledge of technologies and technology-based solutions dealing with risk management. You have knowledge of processes, tools, techniques and practices for assuring adherence to standards associated with the reliability of supplier services provided to the organization. You can monitor the evolution the vendor management industry leading practices and regulatory environment, understanding the impacts of the changes and ensure that appropriate risk mitigation plans are in place. You can maintaining an enterprise communications and awareness strategy, working with several diverse organizational stakeholders.
