You'll work a steady 7x7 rotation, tackle hands-on repairs in a well-equipped shop, and be part of a team that values safety, craftsmanship, and getting the job done right. Shift: 7x7- rotation of days and nights
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: up to 25% travel within Canada and the USA
Relocation: This position does not offer relocationKey Job Responsibilities
  • Weld and repair mining equipment in the shop and at mine sites when required
  • Work on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform maintenance, inspections, and service work on heavy mining equipment
  • Weld in all positions using GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW with various wire sizes
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Use oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines confidently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Prioritize safety for yourself and your team
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Journeyperson Welder certification (Red Seal preferred)
  • 3-7 years of welding experience
  • Experience repairing mining equipment such as trucks, shovels, drills, and loaders
  • Line boring/machining experience and the ability to build up worn bores
  • All-position CWB certification is an asset
  • Heat-treating experience and familiarity with 3/32 wire is an advantage
  • Experience with Joy Global product lines is an asset
  • Valid driver's license
