- Manage all fleet activities including purchase, rental, dispatch, inventory, and billing across the project.
- Oversee owned, rented, and subcontracted equipment and vehicle fleets.
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed in compliance with OEM and corporate standards.
- Monitor equipment availability, downtime, and overall fleet performance.
- Develop and manage equipment budgets and track utilization, cost, and maintenance metrics.
- Analyze equipment usage to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure cost coding accuracy.
- Source equipment, materials, services, and maintenance providers for project operations.
- Negotiate rental agreements, purchase contracts, and service agreements aligned with corporate objectives.
- Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements.
- Ensure implementation and compliance with telematics platforms and equipment maintenance management systems.
- Maintain accurate equipment records and generate standardized reporting.
- Act as the lead equipment representative within the JV structure and coordinate with JV partners.
- Supervise mechanics, oilers, and equipment personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Manage maintenance scheduling, repairs, and equipment logistics.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, corporate policies, and JV safety standards.
- Work with Corporate Equipment Department to support NSC/DOT compliance and reporting.
- Recommend equipment disposals and rental terminations based on utilization.
- Support corporate policies and perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 7+ years of heavy equipment and/or fleet management experience required.
- Experience managing equipment on large infrastructure or Joint Venture projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and fleet operations.
- Financial acumen includes budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of equipment regulations, licensing, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with telematics and equipment management systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
