But our job isn’t done yet and we need you to help us expand our reach.Job DescriptionCAWST is seeking a temporary Accountant to support our Finance team while a team member is on leave. In this role, you’ll help keep our daily accounting operations running smoothly, ensuring accuracy in payroll, reconciliations, expenses, and compliance reporting. Working closely with the Sr Manager, Finance, you’ll play a key role in supporting our mission-driven work during this 3-month term.Please note that this is an in-office position, based in Calgary, AB. Only candidates with valid Canadian work authorization will be considered.Start date: This is flexible, but no later than September 30, 2025.Key Responsibilities:Accounting and bookkeeping functions for CAWST, including reconciliation of semi-monthly payrollPrepare journal entries, reconcile financial statements and accounts, and ensure data accuracy.Expenses in SAP Concur (Travel expenses and Accounts payable)Petty cash reimbursements, special cheque requestsHelp to ensure compliance with CAWST policies and proceduresSupport the Sr Manager, Finance to ensure accurate and timely submission of GST returnsEnsure all deductions and payroll activities are compliant with legislationMaintain fixed asset schedule and assist in balance sheet reconciliationsCalculate variances against budgetOther ad-hoc duties as requiredSystems:SAP ConcurADPMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)MS Business CentralQualifications
  • CPA designation or in progress (preferred)
