Regional Practice Leader - Psychology Professional Practice

- Work in a team based environment and be charged with providing practice leadership and expertise for Psychologists across the continuum of acute, rehabilitation, community, residential and tertiary care across Vancouver Coastal Health.
- Participate in the planning and coordination of Psychology services, practice standards, goals and objectives in conjunction with designated management and other team members, and collaborating on various staffing and quality control issues.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance on areas related to psychology practice, research and education, practice teaching and knowledge translation.
- May provide Psychological assessment and treatment as required.
- Graduate of a Doctoral level program in Psychology.
- Six (6) years recent, related experience including two (2) years experience in a leadership capacity in clinical psychology including therapeutic, diagnostic and consultation service or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
- Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
- Comprehensive knowledge of psychology treatment and empirically supported treatment methods and tools including cognitive therapy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of standards of practice and regulations for Psychology as established by the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legislation as pertaining to psychology practice
- Comprehensive knowledge and expertise of psychology assessment including semi-structured diagnostic assessment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.
- Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to function as an effective team member, leader, mentor, coach and facilitator.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, supervision, work direction and training.
- Comprehensive knowledge of leadership approaches and strategies
- Comprehensive knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with, and deal effectively with, co-workers, clients and their families, both one-on-one and in groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with conflict situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized patient care information system.
