Junior AI Controls Engineer

- Assist in deploying, testing, and verifying AI control algorithms for building control systems
- Support senior engineers in developing HVAC control sequences and troubleshooting control systems
- Contribute to the development and testing of HVAC algorithms under supervision
- Assist in onsite edge device installation and commissioning with guidance
- Support analysis and improvement of building controls for energy optimization and occupant comfort
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on building deployments and performance evaluations
- Participate in testing and commissioning of BMS & HVAC systems
- Help improve company tools and templates related to energy and performance analysis
- Read and interpret HVAC mechanical plans and wiring diagrams with assistance
- Help identify and resolve system issues with support from senior team members
- Assist in training customers on HVAC control systems and provide follow-up support
- Document work processes and contribute to procedure development
- Support the generation and analysis of performance reports
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the team
- DEC or bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field (or currently pursuing)
- 0–2 years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls (internships/co-ops acceptable)
- Familiarity with DDC, PLC, or BAS/HVAC control programming is a plus
- Basic understanding of building automation systems, HVAC principles, and building operations
- Exposure to HVAC automation systems and basic commissioning tasks
- Interest in learning control theory and practical implementation
- Familiarity with common control platforms (JCI, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.) is an asset
- Awareness of BMS communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers
- Basic reporting skills and data analysis capability
- Enthusiasm for energy management and sustainable building performance
- Willingness to learn Python or other programming languages used in controls
