Responsibilities include oversee Ramp manning and GSE requirements. Must have ability to work under pressure, change allocated Ramp crews as required. Responsible for overseeing all personnel, take accountability for safety, resource management, operation standards, communicate directly with Airline customers. Manage daily, hourly and real-time plan for Ramp operations. Adheres to all standards, procedures ensuring towing operation is supported by following established procedures and protocols.Main accountabilities include:
  • To do planning in Work Bridge system.
Manage daily, hourly and real-time basis the manpower and GSE plan for the YYZ Operation.Allocate manning GSE to meet the needs to customer and Menzies aviation.Obtain inbound and outbound load plans from customers.Become direct point of contact to provide real time operational information for Ramp Teams, Airlines and Station Manager.Create live shift report.Provide Ramp/Zone Supervisors/Dispatchers with Load Plans for flight.Record arrival times of ramp teams at assigned gate.Record departure times of aircraft.Inform Station Manager of any delays or service failure.Update aircraft arrival and departure times, communicate to ramp crews.Record and GSE defects and report to GSE maintenance.Collect walk around check sheets for each flight.Record staff absences, or late personnel, make changes to ramp team to cover and shortfall in manning.Allocate set GSE to ramp teams; ensure GSE check sheet is completed by each team before shift commences.Ensure safety and security procedures are performed according to the Menzies Health & Safety regulations, and according to international aviation standards.Monitor performance, taking action to correct any shortfalls.Liaises with airline station managers, airport operations staff, handling agents, customs, immigration, and security officials, and other airport stakeholders.Work shifts as required by the business.To report any significant deficiency in our operations directly to the Manpower Planning Manager.Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practice especially those relating to safety and security.Prepare disciplinary incident and or termination reports as needed for violations of company policy.Promote a culture of safe working within the CompanyEnsures tasks are performed in accordance with the Company and Airlines specific procedures and policiesRequired to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Experience:Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and legally able to work in Canada;Ground Handling experience at a high volume international airport;Able to communicate verbal and written in the English language effectively;Must have valid G Driver’s licenseAbility to work within a pressured environmentMust be able to work extended hours and flexible shifts when required which may include weekends and holidaysMust be able to obtain and hold all required security clearancesMust be able to occasionally lift up to 70lbs if requiredConversant with international airline ramp handling procedures, International aviation safety and security procedures, and Menzies ramp, safety and security procedures;Excellent knowledge of ramp GSE;Provide daily and real-time plan for YYZ operations;Manage ramp teams as demanded by changes in flight schedules;Provide real time information to Operations Manager, customers and ramp teams;Reliability, our customer and your fellow employees rely on you.If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CVBehaviors : Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
