- Collaborate with the Design team to identify new trends and source fabrics aligned with market demand
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities for both current and new fabric developments
- Develop, maintain, and manage the fabric library, including PLM system updates
- Coordinate with fabric mills to ensure timely delivery; proactively manage delays and negotiate solutions (e.g., air shipment when required) to meet customer deadlines
- Liaise with customers to address fabric-related needs, including adjustments based on testing results and ongoing satisfaction follow-up
- Oversee development approvals, ensuring strike-offs, lab dips, and hand looms are submitted on time and feedback is communicated to mills
- Monitor fabric quality, including color consistency, defects, and damages; resolve issues with suppliers and manage debit notes where applicable
- Review receiving documentation to ensure accuracy in quantities, pricing, discounts, and debit notes prior to finance processing
- Manage fabric ordering and tracking for sample development
- Prepare seasonal swatch books for sales teams, customers, and showroom presentation
- Collaborate closely with the Production team to coordinate fabric delivery timelines
- Strong knowledge of textile construction, including woven, knit, and specialty fabrics
- Understanding of fiber content and performance characteristics (e.g., cotton, polyester, viscose, blends, stretch fabrics)
- Familiarity with fabric development processes: strike-offs, lab dips, hand looms, and bulk production
- Ability to interpret and act on fabric test reports (colorfastness, shrinkage, pilling, tensile strength, etc.)
- Experience with color matching and shade control across dye lots
- Knowledge of fabric costing, consumption, and yield optimization
- Experience working with mills and understanding production lead times and constraints
- Proficiency in PLM systems and fabric library management tools
- Understanding of quality control standards and inspection processes
- Familiarity with sustainability practices (preferred): eco-friendly fabrics, certifications, and compliance standards
- Strong negotiation skills, especially when dealing with suppliers and resolving delivery or quality issues
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple developments simultaneously
- Detail-oriented mindset, particularly in quality control, documentation, and approvals
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration (Design, Production, Sales, and external mills)
- Problem-solving ability with a proactive and solution-driven approach
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
