What you will do
- Working closely with other leaders in providing client service and carrying out the day-to-day field work on a variety of assignments. The candidate will often be responsible for managing several engagements at one time.
- Performing detailed and often complex financial analysis; with an ability to help translate complex financial issues into clear evidence for clients and their legal teams.
- Investigating complex financial disputes, quantifying economic damages, and assisting in preparation of expert testimony in a variety of legal proceedings such as fraud cases, contract breaches, and commercial disputes by analyzing data, reviewing documents, and providing objective, evidence-based reports that strengthen case strategies and facilitate settlements.
- Financial management of client service projects, including monitoring project budgets and ensuring timely billing and collections.
- Supervision of junior employees on engagements and administrative projects. Sharing in the risk and administrative tasks related to the operation of KPMG Forensic.
- Actively participating in marketing and business development at a Senior Manager level, this will include developing your professional network, attending networking events, writing articles, preparing and delivering presentations and other activities to raise your profile within the business community.
- Out of town travel in Canada or internationally on short notice will arise occasionally and may possibly involve extended travel periods.
- 8+ years of professional experience including 4+ years in a forensic accounting or litigation/dispute support role and 2+ years of assurance/audit experience.
- CPA designation & Bachelor of Business Administration or similar.
- CBV, CA.IFA and CFF designations all considered an asset.
- Proven track record of developing business through networking and relationship cultivation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Ability to synthesize and present complex financial issues into clear, concise evidence for clients and their legal teams.
