Operate asphalt screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications as instructed by the crew Foreman on highway, municipal and private contracts, to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met.
Make normal adjustments to obtain proper depth, grade and finished cross section of asphalt material
Operate a variety of heavy equipment in paving, crushing and plant operations in a safe and efficient manner
Perform daily maintenance, clean and service the equipment; perform minor repairs to equipment
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment; complete maintenance records and daily equipment log
Perform all fluid level checks, fueling, greasing, undercarriage cleaning, etc. as required
Productively operated in a collaborative manner with all crew members

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience operating various types of asphalt pavers
Knowledge of all paving equipment and paving process and industry requirements
Must have a valid minimum class 5 driver's licence with driver’s abstract meeting Miller’s expectations
Ability to operate in a fast pace and demanding environment in a safe and effective manner
Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others; team player who is willing to help out in all areas
Must have a high attention to detail and the ability to think critically
Punctual and reliable, with the ability to work overtime and weekends if needed
Must be able to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions
Travel is required
