Strong financial insight is essential to delivering them well.We're looking for a Project Finance Lead who will play a key role in driving project performance, strengthening our financial systems, and improving how we plan, track, and deliver work across the studio.This is not a traditional accounting role. It's a hands-on, high-impact position that brings together project finance, systems optimization, and operational support. You'll work closely with Project Managers and Studio Leads to bring clarity to project performance and help teams make better, more informed decisions.What You'll Get Up toProject Financial Performance & Insights
  • Partner with Project Managers and Studio Leads to monitor project budgets, track costs, and assess financial performance
  • Identify variances, trends, and risks, and provide clear, actionable insights to support decision-making
  • Support the development and maintenance of project budgets and forecasts that reflect realistic scope, timelines, and resourcing
  • Ensure project financial data is accurate, complete, and up to date across systems
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain integrity of financial information
CMAP Optimization & Resourcing Support
  • Lead the optimization and ongoing use of CMAP to support project profitability, cash flow, and reporting
  • Improve data quality and completeness to enable reliable project analytics and efficient invoicing
  • Support Studio Leads in using CMAP's intelligent resourcing tools to plan and manage project teams
  • Streamline workflows and reduce administrative burden on project teams through better system use
Billing, Cash Flow & Financial Operations
  • Oversee project billing to ensure timely and accurate invoicing aligned with project progress and contract terms
  • Review unbilled costs and outstanding invoices monthly to maximize revenue and collection
  • Monitor expenses, timesheets, and approvals to support accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Review sub-consultant invoices for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with budgets
  • Reconcile project accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy
Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and analysis, including project performance, cost of goods sold, and cash flow forecasting
  • Support the preparation of annual financial statements for MGA and MGA US
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and tax requirements
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure data accuracy and protect company assets
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Review bookkeeping, payroll, and monthly reconciliations for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes across financial and project management systems
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in project finance or project accounting, ideally within architecture, engineering, or professional services
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA designation (or working toward it) is an asset
  • Strong understanding of project-based financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and billing
  • Experience working with project management and financial systems. CMAP experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work with complex data and translate it into clear, useful insights
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity
  • Confidence partnering with non-financial stakeholders and influencing decision-making
  • A proactive, systems-oriented mindset with a track record of improving processes
