- Operate the company service truck to provide diagnostic and repairs in the field.
- Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel powered units.
- Perform maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment, including but not limited to pavers, loaders, skid steers, graders, excavators, dozers, backhoes and trucks.
- Diagnose, service and repair various systems found on pieces of heavy equipment, such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, high voltage generators, propane powered equipment and pneumatic systems.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments to fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires and clutches.
- Diagnose problems, disassemble units, repair or replace parts and re assemble units in the following systems:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Bi-weekly schedule of 6 working days, 1 day off/ 5 working days, 2 days off with up to 12 hours per days during construction season and condensed work week during winter months. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
- Ability to for overnight travel may be required occasionally. Accommodations and Live Out Allowance is applicable in most situations.
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
- Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
