The manager is responsible for understanding, assessing and prioritizing potential solutions to problems. This may take the form of products, services, experiences or technologies that solve for evolving needs of the member and employee.Key tasks include establishing and managing a backlog of priorities, overseeing the assessment and validation of these priorities, support and contribute to the analysis, and ensuring the sustained growth of the products and services that fall within their portfolio. The objective of this role is to meet organizational goals while at the same time, increasing member and employee satisfaction by bringing better solutions to market.This competitively rewarded role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, in-person events or activities will be required of you.A typical day would involve:
  • Incorporating stakeholder input, member and employee needs to plan and support development of a prioritized pipeline (roadmap) for our digital banking products (online/mobile banking & account origination) Continuously review and update.
  • Translating the digital strategy into detailed requirements/user stories, actionable tasks and work with cross functional agile teams to execute those requirements.
  • Ensuring that the product backlog items are clearly defined, well understood and properly estimated by the development team.
  • Prioritizing and sequence backlogs and features to achieve the product outcomes.
  • Working with direct reports, peers and leadership to ensure that the product meets customer needs and is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensuring that the product is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards and manage any legal or ethical considerations related to the product.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (developers, designers, marketers, and quality assurance) through the inception, design, development, launch and improvement of member and staff experiences; and when appropriate, ensuring product profitability, member satisfaction and market fit.
  • Overseeing multiple product paths with their different process, ecosystems, teams and requirements.
  • Working extensively with third-party vendors, managing partnerships, and ensuring seamless integration and implementation of digital banking features.
  • Maintaining an understanding of the competitive landscape, emerging trends, and new technologies that may impact the product's success.
  • Demonstrating hands-on leadership and ownership of the product, equally comfortable working as an individual contributor or leading and motivating teams to share and contribute to the product vision and goals.
  • Modelling a growth mindset, empowering direct reports and supporting them through coaching and ongoing professional development.
You are:

You have:
  • A degree in Business Administration or Master’s in Business or related field.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in Product Development, Product Design, Product Management
  • Leadership and team development experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Product Lifecycle Management and a strategic thinker with road mapping skills
  • Demonstrated writing skills with a passion for story telling at a level suitable for presentation to senior executives.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile Methodology
  • Proven track record of taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market.
  • Ability to build metrics that prove the growth of portfolio.
  • Experience with forecasting and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Proficient in data analytics and research

The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.We offer:
