TAS Server and Network Technician

- Administer Server and Network activities at Hemlo Operations.
- Monitor server and network performance and generate reports, trends and capacity planning and ensure hardware operation.
- Installation, maintenance and repair of all physical communications and network components across site including both underground and surface, including underground multilite system
- Ensure focus on the implementation, support and operations of technology solutions with the highest business impact while eliminating, automating or minimizing work that does not have a high and positive impact to business results. Balance operational and project priorities.
- Desire for skills development and training in a team based maintenance organization required
- Engage with the business, other TAS peers and employees, other site managers, and global Barrick resources to deliver TAS projects, resolutions and best practices to Hemlo.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of leadership and personnel. ยท Demonstrate comfort in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift frequently.
- Have ability to work with cross functional teams
- Proven safe work record required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in networking and knowledge of networking protocols required
- Two (2) years technical degree and/or certification preferred
- Cisco Wireless certification CCNA preferred
- Exposure to servers, storage, SAP, LAN, WAN, LIMS, Wireless infrastructure, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, Cisco, Windows, UNIX, Linux, phone systems, satellite and microwave technology preferred
- Knowledge of 802.11 wireless networking preferred
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper network technologies preferred
- Certified Fibre Optic Technician or equivalent preferred
- Excellent site installation of network hardware skills required
- Understanding of wireless site survey technologies preferred
- UG Common Core preferred
- Two years underground experience preferred
- Operation of scissor deck, boom truck, forklift, etc preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Ability to create and maintain written documentation required
- Strong dedication to safety and courageous leadership required
